If you’ve ever seen John Cena wrestle then you’ll understand why he is the perfect choice to play a bull in Ferdinand. Thankfully though the aggression he shows in the ring doesn’t feature in the new film as he is a bull with a heart of gold. Watching the trailer, it looks like the film will be full of fun for kids, but will Cena also pull in a few older watchers too?
FERDINAND will be charging his way into the festive season and the hearts of families across the UK and Ireland from 16th December 2017.
After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, Ferdinand is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover.
From Carlos Saldanha (The “Ice Age” and “Rio” Franchises)” and inspired by the beloved book by Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson, “Ferdinand” is a heartwarming animated comedy adventure from Blue Sky Studios that tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. John Cena (Trainwreck, Daddy’s Home) leads an all-star cast that includes Kate McKinnon (Finding Dory, Ghostbusters, The Angry Birds Movie), Gina Rodriguez (Deepwater Horizon, “Jane the Virgin”), Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish”, Transformers), David Tennant (“Broadchurch”, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, “Doctor Who”), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’s Baby, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Bridget Jones’s Diary) and many more.
Ferdinand charges into UK cinemas December 16.
