There are a few Hollywood combinations of director and actor that could be looked at as being a golden partnership, Tom Hanks and Clint Eastwood is arguably one of them. When they came together to make Sully: Miracle on the Hudson, there was no doubt that they would have a hit on their hands. Based on our review, it appears that this is in fact the case.

So what makes them such a good combination? Well taking a look at the infographic above, the numbers talk for themselves. These two are Hollywood reality. Eastwood may have moved onto directing now, but the huge list of movies he starred in are stuff of legend. From his many westerns, to the iconic Dirty Harry, right up to the likes of Million Dollar Baby and Gran Turino (which he directed) all have been well received.

When it comes to Tom Hanks, I like to see him as the nice guy of Hollywood. We’ve grown up with movies like Big, The Burbs, and of course Forrest Gump and these characters just prove that he is perfect to play a guy like Sully. All of the Oscar Awards he’s won have been fully deserved, he is a true Hollywood legend.

While Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks are a golden couple, they aren’t just the only two, and that is what makes the movie industry so interesting. Through all genres, we see certain directors and actors who excite us when they work together, because they are so good.
