King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Trailer Released

Today we have the new trailer new official trailer for Guy Ritchie’s new take on the Arthurian legend King Arthur: Legend of The Sword, starring Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, and Eric Bana. Coming to UK cinemas May 12th it looks to (not surprisingly) take a lot from Games of Thrones and adds even more fantasy to the tale.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

Looking at the trailer it is nice to see a new take on the Legend, though whether it is what fans want will be a different matter. If anything, I can’t help but feel the trailer has a superhero style reveal for the character, like Arthur with the power of the sword is a Superman type character. Would that be such a bad thing? It is fair to say that Charlie Hunnam does look like he will be an Arthur that will gain a lot of interest, with the rest of the cast being as impressive. Having not been really that interested in this movie, I will admit that I’m a bit more interested.
