Ghost in the Shell Reveals its ‘Big Game Spot’

It’s that time of year again when America Football fans are gearing up for the biggest event of the year, the Superbowl. Movie fans though know it as the time when movie companies pay way too much money to get their TV spots into the advertisement slots where they know viewership will be huge. Today we have Ghost in the Shell’s showing, which features plenty of cyborg action and stylish visuals. Scarlett Johansson’s Major has a definite RoboCop style feel to her, and I’m sure it’ll catch plenty of people’s interest.

So what did you think? It is arguable that the remake of the anime is not even needed, and of course many question Scarlett Johansson and her casting as Major. This is the film that we have in the end though, will it be worth the wait? I’m getting the feeling it just might be, and in the end if it isn’t we still have the anime to enjoy in all its untouched glory.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed Japanese Anime property, GHOST IN THE SHELL follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9 devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists. Directed by Rupert Sanders. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, and Kaori Momoi.
